Dave Swarbrick (born Five April 1941). English folk fiddle player. He was natural inside New Malden, Surrey and grew higher around Birmingham. He learnt a rudiments of the fiddle from a local fiddler & attended a Birmingham College of Art in the late 1950s. Swimming guitar, he joined Beryl Marriot's Ceilidh Band inside Birmingham. Beryl encouraged him to require higher a violin once again. Swarbrick joined a Ian Campbell Folk Group in 1960. Inside 1966 he teamed up by owning Martin Carthy and the pairing got the important influence in the contemporary folk music scene. Around 1969 he joined folk rock group Fairport Convention. Within 1984 Swarbrick formed Whippersnapper, a class action famous for its acoustical artistry. Within 1989 he decided to leave to concentrate on solo act & revive his partnership sustaining Martin Carthy. Around 1993 Swarbrick moved to Australia and met and began working by owning Alistair Hulett. Giving to England in 1996, he and Kevin Dempsey started working together. There was considerable embarrassment for the Daily Telegraph newspaper in 1999 while it published the premature obituary for Swarbrick after he was admitted to hospital by using the chest malady. Fallowing numerous years of steadily worsening health, he was fortunate plenty, within October 2004, to receive the double lung transplant & has today been freed from either hospital & these are to exist as hoped he is on the road to improved health & the better quality of life when existence confined to the wheelchair for a select few years. Inside 2004 he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at a BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
